Here at ELEYSP, we want members to feel and understand the value of being part of the alliance so wholeheartedly encourage prospective members to come along and see how we work for themselves.
Helen Marriott is one of the Deputy Head Teachers at Little Ilford secondary school in Newham. Helen joined the ELEYSP members at several alliance meetings to experience and understand what being a member would mean for her and the benefits it could mean for her school. As a senior leader in a secondary school Helen was concerned that ELEYSP would not benefit her school in the way it does for other in the alliance which is comprised of predominantly nursery and primary schools.
What Helen found was a refreshing way of working, that cut across educational phases no matter whether you were from an Early Years setting or a secondary setting. Helen was able to appreciate how ELEYSP can help all schools and that we provide a range of opportunities suitable for all schools to train and develop their staff.
Helen says, “The meetings have provided me with a space to think about leadership and strategic planning, in discussion with colleagues from a range of schools. It’s great to work with other leaders from the same borough and the way the alliance has set up its peer review process has been particularly insightful.”
